Sold out November event with Jamila Rizvi inspires for a big 2019

Our last event for 2018 was titled Not Just Lucky, with author, presenter, commentator, mum, (and more) Jamila Rizvi speaking.

It was great to finish 2018 with an event to get us thinking about 2019 and inspired to step up and have confidence in who we are.

In a sold out room of 150 women and men, we started the event with a brief presentation on preventing family violence by Senior Sergant Ben Vahland.

Lauren Downs, General Manager of our event sponsor Volvo Bus Australia, shared her incredible career journey and how she became GM in a male dominated industry at quite a young age. Her story showed how important it is to step out, say yes to new opportunities and believe in yourself.

A delicious lunch was followed by key speaker Jamila, who inspired us, challenged our thinking, and left us entertained, motivated and all rethinking how we use the term ‘lucky’ – it’s actually ok to acknowledge that we work hard and are good at what we do, rather than putting our achievements down to being lucky. Jamila was very generous with her time, and chatted and signed books afterwards.

Our hosts at Traralgon Vineyard were a pleasure to deal with as usual.

See lots of great photos from the day in our November 2018 gallery, and check our social media pages for more images and feedback from attendees.
